Glenfinnan
Glenfinnan performs Scottish, Irish and other folk and traditional
music of the British Isles, North America and Australia.

History

Originally called Na Fograchan, the line up consisted of Les Nodes, accordion;  Ross Anderson, guitar and vocals;  David Fraser, fiddle and vocals;  John MacRae, vocals , guitar and spoons;  and Kathi Fraser, vocals and bodhran.
Occasionally they were joined by Brooke Fraser on spoons, and Bill Taylor-Fraser as the sound man.
During this period the band played almost exclusively Scottish music.

Na Fograchan

As time passed, the group's line up changed to include Les, John, and David with Jimmy Allen on guitar and vocals.

After Jimmy departed the band, Frank Frizell joined as lead singer and guitarist.  It was this last grouping which made the first Glenfinnan recordings: Glenfinnan- The Scottish Ceilidh Band, and Tramps and Hawkers featuring John MacRae on vocals.

After the sad passing of Les Nodes, the band took a brief break from performing and recording to establish new arrangements and expand the repertoire.  The band developed a style which also encompassed Irish music, seafaring songs and American and Australian folk music.  It was this group of performers which appeared for several years, up to the summer of 2001, at the Camelot Inn in San Marcos.

On their CD, Pub Music, the band was once again joined by David's daughter Brooke, on spoons, and her husband Don Hudson on drums.  Another fine addition to this recording was Mike O'Hara on button accordion.
